Lindsay Lohan lost in translation, mistakenly calls fans “donkeys”

LONDON, April 22 (UPI) — Lindsay Lohan’s Arabic-reading Instagram followers must have been confused Monday when the actress posted a polarizing graphic that read, “you’re beautiful” in English and “you’re a donkey” in Arabic.

In an attempt at multiculturalism, Lohan, 28, unknowingly shared a circulated message that was originally created as an insult or joke.

Lohan wrote a tweet linking to the original Instagram post using a single Arabic word, “habibi,” which is an acceptable pet-name for a lover or friend, but the link is no longer active. Lohan deleted the photo since the fumble, but not without the Internet taking notice.

The actress now lives in London and works in the West End playing “Karen” on-stage in Speed-the-Plow.
