LONDON, Dec. 30 (UPI) — Lindsay Lohan says she’s “pushing” hard to make Mean Girls 2 happen.

The 30-year-old actress revealed Thursday in a Facebook Live interview with CNN that she’s already “written a treatment” for the potential sequel.

“I have been trying so hard to do a Mean Girls 2,” Lohan said. “It is not in my hands. I know that [writer] Tina Fey, [producer] Lorne Michaels, all of Paramount, everyone’s very busy. But I will keep forcing it and pushing it on them until we do it.”

“I [personally] would love to! I would love to have, like, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jimmy Fallon in the movie. I’ve already written a treatment for it. So I just need a response,” she added. “I know Mark Waters, who was the director, would happily come back.”

The original Mean Girls opened in theaters in 2004 and has since developed a cult following. Lohan had previously expressed interest in and shared an idea for a sequel in an interview with Time Out London.

“I was with Tina Fey the other day and I said we should do another Mean Girls, like an older version where they’re all housewives and they’re all cheating. That would be really funny. I’ll harass Tina to write it,” she said in 2014.

Lohan, who played Cady Heron in Mean Girls, reunited with Jonathan Bennett, who portrayed Aaron Samuels, in October. The actress will next star in The Shadow Within with Charlotte Beckett.
