LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 (UPI) — Lisa Vanderpump revealed she was blindsided by friends Yolanda and David Foster’s divorce announcement.
Speaking with reporters Sunday, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star said she “didn’t see it coming.”
Us Weekly reports the 55-year-old friend to both Fosters said she is “very sad” about their divorce, which was announced in early December. “I didn’t expect it, and I always thought she always had this unbelievable marriage, so I’m sad about that. Very sad about it.”
“Having been married for 33 years, I hate to see that,” she added. Vanderpump is married to British soccer player Ken Todd.
While Vanderpump expressed her condolences over the divorce, other co-stars have taken to social media to show emotional support for the couple. Shortly after the Dec.1 announcement, Eileen Davidson said she was “so sorry to hear about” the split while former co-star Adrienne Maloof said she was “sending positivity,” to Yolanda.
Yolanda Foster, 51, and her estranged husband, music producer David Foster, 66, announced their impending divorce after nine years of marriage. In a joint statement, the couple expressed the time they spent together was “beautiful.”
“During that time we experienced love, friendship and the inevitable challenges that come with managing a marriage, careers, blended families and health issues,” the statement read.
Yolanda Foster was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, having revealed the disease impaired her ability to read, write or watch TV at the time. During a Global Lyme Alliance awards ceremony in New York in October, Foster revealed her two youngest children Bella and Anwar also struggle with the tick-borne disease.
While the couple didn’t have children together, Yolanda — who has been a star on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills since its third season in 2012 — is mother to Gigi Hadid, 20, Bella Hadid, 19, and Anwar Hadid, 16, from her previous marriage with Mohamed Hadid. David had three previous marriages to B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer and Linda Thompson.
