LONDON, Oct. 20 (UPI) — British singer Jessie J is impressing fans with her rendition of The Little Mermaid classic “Part of Your World.”
The song which will appear on the upcoming We Love Disney compilation album features Jessie J giving the familiar song a new twist with her signature high notes as she makes the Ariel classic her own.
Jessie J, real name Jessica Ellen Cornish, is the latest artist to lend her voice to the upcoming album that will also features Ne-Yo, Fall Out Boy, Kacey Musgraves and Lucy Hale. “Part of Your World” was originally made famous by Jodi Benson in her role as Ariel in the 1989 Disney animated classic.
“I selected ‘Part of Your World’ from The Little Mermaid because when I was little, I literally loved this song, and I always wanted to be able to sing it, combing my hair with a fork,” she said in a behind-the-scenes clip from the making of the album.
We Love Disney is set for release on Oct. 30.
