Livestream of UK puddle draws thousands of viewers

NEWCASTLE, England, Jan. 6 (UPI) — A livestream of a large puddle in the middle of a busy intersection in Newcastle, England has attracted thousands of viewers.

Dubbed “Drummond Puddle Watch,” the stream on live video broadcasting site periscope, has gone viral as viewers watch various pedestrians attempts to cross large puddle.

Nearby office worker Richard Rippon started the stream after he told the BBC watching the people attempt to cross the puddle quickly became a “spectator sport” in his office.

“Some people are Jesus-walking across it, some people are running and jumping,” Rippon told BBC. “We haven’t had anyone fall in yet but there’s still time.”

The live stream attracted as many as 20,000 viewers and became a hit on social media through the #DrummondPuddleWatch hashtag.
