LOS ANGELES, Dec. 15 (UPI) — Los Angeles Unified School District closed all of its schools, more than 1,000, Tuesday morning after a bomb threat was called into a school board member.
It is unclear if the threat was specific to a single school or who received the threat. Students and staff were directed to stay away from all campuses. Students and staff already on campus were sent home.
The district, the second largest in the nation, has more than 1,000 public and charter schools with more than 640,000 students.
This is a developing story.
