‘Lost Boys’ actor Brooke McCarter dead at 52

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 24 (UPI) — Actor Brooke McCarter has died from the genetic liver condition alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, his family said in a Facebook post. He was 52.

The Philadelphia native was best known for his work in the films Thrashin’, The Lost Boys and Wired.

“Brooke was our loving son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend,” his family said in a statement Tuesday.

“We appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

His Lost Boys co-star Alex Winter took to Twitter to express his grief over the death of his old friend.

“RIP Brooke McCarter and condolences to the family. We had some very very good times together back in the day,” read Winter’s post.
