ROCKAWAY, N.J., Aug. 21 (UPI) — A New Jersey couple captured video of five bear cubs and their mother playing in a backyard pool while the couple’s daughter offered perturbed commentary.
Tim Basso, who posted video clips of the bears to YouTube, said his wife started filming earlier this week when the couple and their young children noticed the family of bears playing in their Rockaway back yard.
Basso said the bears hung around the yard and kiddie pool for about an hour.
“They came in, they experienced the pool, they got it, they seemed to enjoy themselves. They did a little bit of damage on the pool toys and floats and whatnot, but all in all I don’t think it was a terrible experience,” Basso told WPVI-TV.
Basso’s daughter, Sarah, did not seem amused by the bears while offering commentary while her mother filmed.
“They took my floaty!” she said. “One is eating my car!”
“Will we have to buy a new pool?” the girl asks.
