LOS ANGELES, July 3 (UPI) — Fox has announced Oscar-winning actress Marisa Tomei is joining the ensemble of Empire for Season 2.
“Welcome to Empire, Marisa Tomei!!” read Friday’s message on the hit show’s Facebook page.
The post included a link to a Deadline report that described Tomei’s Mimi Whiteman character as a “Forbes list billionairess… a lover of hip hop music, social trends, high-end fashion and beautiful women.”
Starring Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard, the drama series follows a family that has built its fortune in the music industry.
