LOS ANGELES, Sept. 11 (UPI) — Taylor Swift may soon have a cameo on the popular cop drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
The series’ protagonist, actress Mariska Hargitay, 51, told Entertainment Tonight she and the 1989 pop star — who recruited Hargitay to play Justice in her award-winning “Bad Blood” music video — have discussed the cameo, “but it’s in the air.”
“We just talked about it,” said Hargitay, who plays SVU’s integral character, Olivia Benson. “We’re going to wait until the end of the [1989 World] tour to see how it goes.”
Fans and SVU producers will then have to wait until December before any cameo or guest-star plans can be put into motion.
On being part of Taylor Swift’s crew at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards — during which Swift won video of the year for “Bad Blood” — Hargitay told ET it was “an experience” but added that the best part of being in the group was “that they were so supportive, wonderful and fun.”
“It’s a good posse to jump into,” she said.
Hargitay was first linked to Swift’s entourage when the pop star revealed she named one of her cats after Hargitay’s tough character. The two have made sweet gestures back and forth since the pet’s name was announced.
“When she named her cat, I had so much going on,” Hargitay told Us Weekly at the time. “I was out of town, and when things calmed down, I thought it warranted a real something [special,]” she said of sending a personalized collar to the star.
Now, the actress is considering getting a cat and naming it Taylor. “The squad room needs to get a cat or I need to get a cat,” she told ET.
