Maya Thurman-Hawke stuns at CFDA Fashion Awards

NEW YORK, June 2 (UPI) — Maya Thurman-Hawke made her major fashion debut at the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday.

The 16-year-old daughter of actress Uma Thurman and actor Ethan Hawke was escorted by designer Zac Posen, who won the annual event’s Swarovski Perry Ellis Award for Womenswear in 2004.

Thurman-Hawke stunned in a Zac Posen dress from the designer’s Resort 2016 collection. The teenager twirled several times on the red carpet, highlighting the gown’s sheer, floral overlay.

Thurman and Hawke were married from 1998 to 2005, and have two children together: Maya and 13-year-old son Levon. Thurman-Hawke was last seen with Thurman at the New York premiere of The Theory of Everything in October 2014.

Thurman-Hawke is an aspiring actress who was reportedly Sofia Coppola’s first choice to portray Ariel in Universal’s live-action version of The Little Mermaid. The director dropped out of the project this week, allegedly because the studio was “wary” to cast Thurman-Hawke.
