LOS ANGELES, Nov. 19 (UPI) — Melissa Benoist’s husband, Blake Jenner, has joined the cast of Supergirl.
The 27-year-old actress confirmed the news by sharing a photo of the 23-year-old actor on set Wednesday on Instagram. “Coming soon to National City,” she wrote.
TVLine reports Jenner will play Adam Foster, a “handsome stranger” with ties to Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart). He immediately forms a connection with Kara Danvers (Benoist), aka Supergirl, but his appearance tests her relationship with Cat.
Benoist and Jenner previously co-starred as Marley Rose and Ryder Lynn, respectively, on Seasons 4 and 5 of Fox musical drama Glee. The actor will appear on multiple episodes of Supergirl, and make his debut as Adam in early 2016.
Supergirl premiered in October, and airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. The series follows the titular DC Comics character as she embraces and begins to use her powers, and co-stars Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan and David Harewood.
