Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones celebrate 15th anniversary

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 19 (UPI) — Michael Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary Wednesday.

The 71-year-old actor and 46-year-old Welsh actress marked the occasion by sharing sweet photos and messages on social media. The couple married in New York on Nov. 18, 2000.

“15 years ago and today… Happy Anniversary Catherine!” Douglas captioned snapshots of himself with Zeta-Jones on Facebook. “Happy Anniversary dearest Michael! Loving our life together, here’s to the next 15!” the actress added.

Douglas and Zeta-Jones met at the Deauville Film Festival in 1998, and got engaged the next year. The pair welcomed their first child, son Dylan, ahead of their wedding in August 2000, and daughter Carys followed in April 2003.

The couple separated for several months in 2013, but had officially reconciled as of April. Douglas announced the news on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, telling the host they were able to work through their issues and reunite as husband and wife.

“It can’t be a one-way street,” he said of the reconciliation. “But I’m crazy about her, and yeah, I think every couple has their difficult times. The only problem is we’re all in the public eye and it tends to get more exposed than most. But we’re back, stronger than ever.”

Douglas last appeared in Ant-Man with Paul Rudd, and will next star in Unlocked with Noomi Rapace. Zeta-Jones is slated for Griselda Blanco biopic The Godmother with Skyler Gisondo and a film adaptation of the BBC sitcom Dad’s Army.
