NYACK, N.Y., Sept. 25 (UPI) — Michelle Rounds stepped out Thursday following her hospitalization Tuesday evening.
The 44-year-old IT consultant was spotted with her mother in Nyack, N.Y., as she treated herself to a manicure. The sighting came just one day after Rounds was released from a local hospital amid rumors she attempted suicide Tuesday.
Sources told TMZ the consultant’s estranged wife, television personality Rosie O’Donnell, called police after Rounds revealed she intentionally overdosed on pills. The consultant was reportedly upset over losing custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Dakota.
Insiders, however, insisted to Entertainment Tonight rumors of a suicide attempt are false. Sources claimed Rounds reacted “to medication she was taking both for stress and for her condition [of desmoid tumors],” saying she would have been held on suicide watch at the hospital.
“Being in the public eye is difficult,” an insider said. “This life is stressful for her. Michelle is taking the time she needs to focus on herself and her daughter.”
Rounds and O’Donnell married in June 2012, and adopted Dakota the following year. The 53-year-old television personality revealed in February she and Rounds had separated in November, and filed for divorce following the announcement.
