Michigan $1M lottery winner: ‘My knees buckled and I fell to the floor’

LANSING, Mich., Aug. 28 (UPI) — Fran Price’s knees buckled and she couldn’t stop crying when she got the call that she’d won Michigan’s $1 million Play it Again giveaway.

The 55-year-old, whose family had fallen on hard times recently, said the win will give her family the financial relief they need, mlive.com reported.

“When I saw the number on my cell phone, I knew I had won,” Price said. “I was at work and tried to stand up from my desk but my knees buckled and I fell to the floor. I couldn’t stop bawling while the woman from the Lottery told me the good news.”

Price plans to use the winnings to pay off her house, buy a new car, take a trip in the spring, and invest the rest, MILottery.com reported.

“This came at the perfect time for us,” she said. “We’ve had some financial trouble recently, and this gives us so much relief to know we can pay our bills and have some cushion that will help us for years to come.”

She and her husband Dan decided to take the lump sum of $735,000 instead of an annuity. They picked up their winnings on Saturday.

After she finally recovered from that phone call, Price said she texted her husband, “BINGO BABY” to let him know life was about to get a little easier.
