LOUISVILLE, Ky., Jan. 8 (UPI) — Former heavyweight champion of the world Muhammad Ali has been released from the hospital Tuesday night after being treated for a urinary tract infection.
Ali originally believed he had pneumonia but was instead diagnosed with a severe urinary tract infection.
Bob Gunnell, a spokesman for Ali, said the three-time champ has “fully recovered” and is “now at home” in the care of his family after checking in on Dec. 20.
“He’s doing great,” Gunnell told the New York Daily News.
“He’s doing very well, back to his normal routine.”
Ali will turn 73 on Jan. 17.
