Mullet revival: Jaromir Jagr to bring back hairstyle

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 5 (UPI) — Weeks after allegedly being blackmailed by a model, Jaromir Jagr is using his hair to change the subject.

Jagr, a 43-year old winger for the Florida Panthers, told the Miami Herald’s George Richards that he plans to bring back his famed mullet this season.

“We have to wear helmets, so that’s why I’m growing my hair back out,” Jagr told Richards. “I’m growing it back. I have to.”

Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo also campaigned to get the mullet back via his Twitter account, @strombone1.

“I will make it my mission this year, work 24h around the clock 2 get Jags to bring this puppy back! It’s gonna happen,” Luongo tweeted in September.

The Panthers face-off against the Flyers at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 in Philadelphia.
