Music festival revelers dance in ‘doofnado’ whirlwind

PYALONG, Australia, Dec. 2 (UPI) — Footage from an Australian music festival shows revelers running into a large whirlwind for a “doofnado” dance party.

The footage, captured by Canadian Olivier Bonenfant at the Earthcore festival in Pyalong and posted to YouTube, shows dancers running headlong into the whirlwind, which is also known as a “willy willy” in Australia.

Bonenfant nicknamed the whirlwind a “doofnado,” after the Australian term “doof” for a dance party in the wilderness.

“It looked pretty fun … if I wasn’t filming I would have run into the doofnado too,” Bonenfant told the BBC.
