RESTON, Va., Aug. 7 (UPI) — New C4ISR systems for the U.S. Navy are to be installed, tested and certified by Serco, a Virginia-headquartered technology and management firm.
The work on C4ISR — command, control, communication, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance — systems comes under a nine-month task order supporting the Navy’s Space and Naval Systems Warfare Systems Center Atlantic.
The order is worth $13 million.
“Securing this contract enhances Serco’s C4ISR capabilities and supports our mission to provide service delivery excellence,” said Dan Allen, Serco’s chairman and chief executive officer. “We have a long-standing relationship with the U.S. Navy and look forward to supporting these Joint Warfighter enhancements.”
Serco provides shipboard IT modernization support for the Navy’s Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise Services and other communications, intelligence and tactical systems.
Serco said its work will include uninstalling old C4ISR systems, but provided no further details about the task order.
