ATLANTA, June 30 (UPI) — NeNe Leakes announced on Monday that she is leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta after seven seasons on the reality show.
The actress, who has been on the show since the first episode, revealed the news that she won’t be returning for season 8 on her Instagram. She wrote: “I am so Grateful for all the love and laughs! Thank you so much to everyone that has watched and supported me over the years on this amazing platform! With lots of thoughts and prayer I’ve decided to step out on faith and not fear #nomoRHOA4me.”

Leakes has been one of Bravo’s biggest hits on the network, and according to the reality star, leaving the show that made her famous was not an easy decision.
She told People: “This was definitely a hard decision for me. Me and my husband [Gregg Leakes] have been going back and forth on it for weeks now. But my contract is up and I just think this is the right time. This is my opportunity to spread my wings and do different things.”
The 48-year-old hinted to the magazine she starts filming for a new primetime television show this week, along with another famous face who has not yet been announced.
Andy Cohen, Leakes’ boss from RHOA, tweeted an open invitation for the veteran cast member to return to the show whenever she wants.

Kenya Moore, who has notoriously had problems with Leakes over the last few seasons, responded with emojis when a Twitter user asked if she was glad about the news.
