BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., May 27 (UPI) — Netflix says it has renewed its Jane Fonda-Lily Tomlin comedy series Grace and Frankie for a second season.
The sophomore episodes are to premiere in 2016. Season 1 debuted via the streaming service this month.
The former 9 to 5 co-stars are now playing women forced to reinvent their lives after their husbands announce they’re leaving them for each other. Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen play the women’s estranged spouses, longtime law partners who intend to wed.
Fonda and Waterston previously shared the screen in the series The Newsroom, while Tomlin appeared on Sheen’s political drama The West Wing.
