NEW YORK, Dec. 30 (UPI) — Video of a New York firefighter’s proposal to his teacher girlfriend has gone viral.
The proposal occurred during the last day of school before the winter break when FDNY Lt. David Royael visited his girlfriend Natalie Moy’s kindergarten class for a fire safety demonstration.
As part of the demonstration Moy attempted to put on Royael’s equipment, including a glove which he used to hide the ring box.
Moy initially didn’t notice the box, mistaking it for a part of the glove, but it eventually fell out after Royael instructed her to remove the glove as he got down on one knee.
Royael told WABC that she intended only to share the video with family and friends, but the size of the file forced him to share it online.
“It said it was too big to send, so I couldn’t email and I couldn’t text it,” he said. “So my brother said, ‘Hey, why don’t you put it on YouTube?’”
The video has been viewed over 100,000 times since being uploaded on Sunday.
