Nicki Minaj performs at bar mitzvah bash

NEW YORK, April 28 (UPI) — There is nothing like a private Nicki Minaj performance to make all the other bar mitzvah boys jealous.

Matt Murstein, son of multi-millionare Andrew Murstein, the founder of Medallion Financial Corp., became a man over the weekend and celebrated his bar mitzvah in Manhattan’s Pierre Hotel. Instead of depending on a local DJ to entertain his guests, Nicki Minaj was on hand to help the teen commemorate his big night.

The songstress, who Business Insider reported that Murstein is a big fan of, sang seven songs during her performance, including an adolescent appropriate version of “Super Bass.” She also posted a photograph with the 13-year-old on her Instagram.

The rap star gave the crowd words of encouragement, telling the teenage boys: “Get an education. Stay in school. And don’t be a slouch or a bum.” Minaj then continued, “And ladies, never let a man have to take care of you. Do you understand me? Be your own woman. Be your own person. Do you understand me?”

She even stayed around after her performance and did a meet and greet with the 150 guests that were in attendance.

Minaj posted another photo from the coming-of-age event, but this time with a group of “hunks.”
