CANNES, France, May 22 (UPI) — Nikki Reed and husband Ian Somerhalder stunned on the red carpet this week.
The 27-year-old actress and 36-year-old actor made their first public appearance as newlyweds at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. The couple attended the premiere of new Paolo Sorrentino film Youth.
Reed turned heads in an Azarro Couture gown with a lengthy, sheer train Somerhalder was more than happy to assist her with. The actor shared a photo from the event on Instagram, writing, “Such a magical moment to be walking the stairs so many great names in the history of cinema have walked before me.”
Reed and Somerhalder were first linked in summer 2014, and confirmed their engagement in February. The couple married in Malibu, Calif., in April, and the actress subsequently posted pictures from their honeymoon on social media.
Reed is best known for portraying Rosalie Hale in the Twilight series of films, while Somerhalder currently portrays Damon Salvatore on The CW series The Vampire Diaries. The supernatural drama was renewed for a seventh season in January.
