Nintendo announces SNES Classic console for September

June 26 (UPI) — Nintendo has announced their follow-up to the NES Classic, the SNES Classic, is set to launch on September 29 for $79.99.

The standalone console that fits in your hand comes with 21 classic games that were released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System throughout the ’90s including Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, Final Fantasy III, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Punch-Out!! and Super Metroid.

Notably, Star Fox 2 is included with the system, a sequel to Star Fox that was completed but never released.

Like the NES Classic, the SNES Classic is packaged with two wired controllers, a USB power cable and an HDMI cable that allows the retro games to be displayed in high-definition.

The NES Classic, released in fall 2016, was discontinued earlier this year.
