No. 2 UConn women beat No. 10 Duke 83-52

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Moriah Jefferson scored 18 points to lead No. 2 Connecticut to an 83-52 win over No. 10 Duke on Monday night.

The junior point guard, who had a career-high 24 points against SMU on Saturday, hit six of her eight shots and was 3 of 4 from 3-point range. She also had four assists.

Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and Breanna Stewart each scored 14 points and Morgan Tuck added 13 for the Huskies (10-1), who have won nine straight since a November loss at No. 15 Stanford.

Freshman forward Azura Stevens led Duke (8-4) with 16 points. Elizabeth Williams added 15.

The game was tied at 22, but the Huskies led by seven at halftime and stretched the lead over the final 20 minutes.

They outran the Blue Devils, using a pressure defense to force 22 turnovers while outscoring Duke 17-2 on the fast break.
