OSLO, Norway, Aug. 21 (UPI) — Norwegian food maker Mills is live streaming the creation of traditional caviar — including the 11 months of roe aging in barrels.
The company is streaming “Mills kaviar – Super Slow TV” on its YouTube channel, which will feature round-the-clock footage of the room where the barrels of roe are aging for caviar production for 7,392 hours — about 11 months.
The stream, explained by a “trailer” posted to the company’s YouTube account, is a play on the concept of “Slow TV” that has gained popularity in the country.
Previous Slow TV projects aired by Norway’s state-run network NRK include several hours of knitting, 12 hours of a fire being built and maintained and 100 hours of chess being played.
Iceland’s public television network, RUV, got into the Slow TV game earlier this year by broadcasting 24 hours of sheep birthing.
