FILLAN, Norway, Oct. 14 (UPI) — A Norwegian police department is looking to attract gullible criminals with a Facebook post asking, “Is anyone missing their hashish?”
The local police department for the islands of Hitra and Froya posted a picture of a block of hash on their official Facebook page Monday along with the question.
The post said the block, which weighs about 3.2 ounces, was found by a member of the public in Fillan and has an estimated street value of $1,100.
“This is quite a lot of money, so whoever lost their hashish can just contact the sheriff’s office in Hitra,” police wrote in the post.
Hashish, which is derived from marijuana, is illegal in Norway, with possession of more than .17 ounces usually leading to a court appearance, the BBC reported.
