Odell Beckham Jr. ‘likely’ to be suspended for one game

NEW YORK, Dec. 21 (UPI) — According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is “likely” to be suspended for one game for his actions Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Beckham battled Panthers cornerback Josh Norman throughout the Giants’ 38-35 loss at MetLife Stadium.

During the battle, Beckham and Norman repeatedly came to blows in between and during play.
“NFL discussing discipline for Odell Beckham Jr. this morning, but based on conversations with league sources, a 1-game suspension is likely,” Schefter tweeted Monday.

Beckham, most notably earned the league’s attention when he eyed up Norman for a helmet-to-helmet hit.

Beckham could also see a hefty fine for his extra-curricular activities.

The 23-year-old could appeal the possible decision for a suspension and still play until the appeal is heard and ruled on. Beckham has 91 receptions for 13 touchdowns and 1,396 yards this season. The Louisiana State University product has scored 25 touchdowns in 25 career starts.

After the game, Norman had fun at Beckham’s expense, posting a retweet mocking Beckham’s most famous catch by replacing the ball with a big letter L. Norman was at it again Monday, tweeting pictures of a dancer, lipstick, bikini, high heels, a purse, dress, and a baby bottle on a retweet of ESPN’s Skip Bayless.

The Bayless tweet read: “After one half…Odell Beckham Jr., 2 targets, 2 drops (one a TD), 3 or 4 scuffles with Josh Norman, zero impact.”
