LOS ANGELES, Sept. 21 (UPI) — Olivia Culpo nearly fainted at the 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday.
The 23-year-old Miss Universe 2012 winner was speaking to Giuliana Rancic, Ross Mathews and Brad Goreski of E! when she was overcome by the heat and had to crouch behind the podium. The temperature reached 98 degrees at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Culpo later assured fans she’s doing fine by joking about the incident on Twitter. She shared a photo of herself in a wheelchair, writing, “OMG it is SO HOT out here. Literally almost just passed out,” and, “When u almost pass out on LIVE TV! @GiulianaRancic @helloross @mrbradgoreski its ok I know u would have caught me.”
Extra host Mario Lopez revealed he saw three people pass out from the heat at the annual awards ceremony. The television personality was forced to change his shirt twice after literally soaking through the material with sweat.
Culpo won Miss Rhode Island, Miss USA and Miss Universe in 2012, and has since appeared in The Other Woman with Cameron Diaz. She and former Jonas Brothers singer Nick Jonas met at the Miss USA 2013 competition, but broke up in June of this year.
