Oprah signs deal for new memoir, ‘The Life You Want’

NEW YORK, Dec. 4 (UPI) — Oprah Winfrey has agreed to publish a new memoir through Flatiron Books titled The Life You Want.

Announced Thursday, the book will reveal “never-before told stories” from Winfrey’s life experience and aim to motivate others to live to the fullest.

“All of my experiences, even the painful ones, have been there to teach me something about life,” the media mogul said in a statement. “I’m still learning and I hope my story inspires other people to live the highest, fullest expression of themselves.”

The new title, scheduled for a January 2017 release, will reportedly be the first of a future collection of imprint books published by Flatiron and chosen specifically by Winfrey. The books will be announced on a regular basis following the release of The Life You Want.

“We’re deeply honored to publish The Life You Want, which is such a remarkable combination of Oprah’s life story and the lessons we can all draw from it in our personal growth,” Flatiron Books president Bob Miller said. “We all know how extraordinary Oprah’s instincts are when it comes to choosing books, instincts borne of her lifelong love of reading and the power of the written word.”

A former talk show host and founder of the OWN television network, Winfrey now heads several major projects including the shows Oprah’s Master Class and Super Soul Sunday. She was a co-producer of the film Selma and regularly publishes the magazine, O, The Oprah Magazine.
