Pamela Anderson reveals she’s cured of Hepatitis C

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 9 (UPI) — Pamela Anderson is reportedly cured of Hepatitis C after a 16-year struggle with the disease.

The 48-year-old Canadian-American actress announced the news Friday on Instagram, and celebrated by sharing a nude photo of herself on a boat in Cannes, France.

“I am CURED!!!” she wrote. “I just found out #nomorehepc #thankyou #blessing #family #prayer #live I pray anyone living with Hep C can qualify or afford treatment. It will be more available soon. I know treatment is hard to get still… #dontlosehope.”

Anderson revealed she’d been diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 2002, claiming she contracted the virus from sharing a tattoo needle with longtime partner Tommy Lee. She told People in August she’d started a new, FDA-approved drug to treat the disease.

“Sixteen years ago [my diagnosis was presented to me] as a death sentence,” she said. “I’m living my life the way I want to but it could have eventually have caused me some problems and so it was a real blessing that I was able to get the medicine.”

Anderson and Lee were married from 1995 to 1998, and stayed involved until 2008. The former couple share 19-year-old son Brandon and 17-year-old son Dylan, whom Anderson discussed in a recent Flaunt magazine interview.
