PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil, Nov. 13 (UPI) — American rock band Pearl Jam performed a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb” during a live show in Brazil Wednesday night.
The band, currently on their South American tour, have never collectively tackled the complex tune from Pink Floyd’s 1979 album The Wall, according to Consequence of Sound. Singer Eddie Vedder, however, has sang the song alongside Floyd frontman Roger Waters during a relief concert in 2012.
Fans braved rainy weather in order to witness the debut performance featuring guitarist Mike McCready and his interpretation of the memorable “Comfortably Numb” guitar solo. Witness William Antunes uploaded his recoding of the encore song to YouTube Thursday.
Pearl Jam continues their South American tour through November, their final stop being Mexico City at the Foro Sol Stadium on Nov. 28. Other dates include Brasilia, Brazil on Nov. 17; Belo Horizonte, Brazil on Nov. 20; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Nov. 22 and Bogota, Colombia on Nov. 25.
