LOS ANGELES, May 30 (UPI) — Penny Johnson Jerald says she was surprised to learn she will not be returning for Season 8 of the mystery dramedy series Castle.
“To my Castle fans around the world, as of late yesterday I am surprised and saddened to learn that I will no longer be a part of the Castle family,” the actress tweeted. “Thank you all for your support and love. Hugs from PJJ.”
The former 24 cast member has played New York Police Capt. Victoria Gates on Castle since 2011. She did not offer any further details regarding her departure.
