Police: Burrito filled with heroin syringe delivered to hospital

BRADENTON, Fla., Dec. 30 (UPI) — Police in Florida said a burrito dropped off for a patient at a hospital was found to include a syringe of heroin.

The Bradenton Police Department said a man brought a bag of food to Blake Medical Center and said the food was for a patient.

The man was told visiting hours were over, so he handed the food over to an employee for delivery to the patient.

The employee checked out the contents of the bag and discovered a syringe concealed inside a burrito. The syringe tested positive for the presence of heroin, police said.

Police released a security camera image of the man who dropped off the tainted meal and asked for the public’s help to identify him.
