Warsaw (AFP) – Legendary Polish film director Andrzej Wajda has died aged 90, local media reported Sunday, leaving behind an opus of acclaimed films inspired by his country’s turbulent history.
Poland’s liberal Gazeta Wyborcza daily and TVN24 private news channel broke the news, also confirmed to AFP by a Wajda family friend who did not wish to be named.
