Prankster throws wad of fake money at Sepp Blatter during FIFA press conference

ZURICH, Switzerland, July 20 (UPI) — During Sepp Blatter’s first news conference since announcing he was stepping down as FIFA president, he was interrupted by Simon Brodkin, who threw fake money at him.

Blatter seemed shaken by the incident on Monday and told the audience at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, that they would need a few minutes to clean up the mess.

Brodkin recently made headlines when he interrupted Kanye West’s performance at the Glastonbury Festival.

Before the debacle, FIFA announced that they would elect Blatter’s successor on February 26, 2016 and BBC reports that UEFA boss Michel Platini is in talks to fill the position.

Another announcement made during the press conference was that the Swiss will step down on June 2 as the governing body of the organization after 17 years.
