CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Nov. 11 (UPI) — Chapel Hill has hauled in another prized recruit for its 2016 recruiting arsenal.
Columbia, S.C. guard Seventh Woods committed to the University of North Carolina Wednesday.
The Tar Heels are now No. 4 in Scout.com’s 2016 class rankings.
The four-star Woods will join Bartow, Florida’s Tony Bradley and Douglasville, Georgia’s Brandon Robinson in Chapel Hill.
Woods, 6-foot-2, is ranked No. 35 in the class of 2016 and picked the Tar Heels over South Carolina, according to NBC Sports. Woods is ranked No. 55 by ESPN and No. 56 by 247Sports.
“It has been a fun process and really hasn’t bothered me,” Woods told the Slate Saturday. “I know next Wednesday it may die down a little bit or hype up even more, but I am looking forward to getting it over with.”
At 16-years-old, Woods was the youngest player at Team USA U-19 tryouts, according to the Slate’s David Cloninger.
Woods has averaged 17.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 3.7 steals per game since his eighth grade season, according to MaxPreps.com.
