BROOKLYN, N.Y., Sept. 30 (UPI) — Rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z’s brainchild streaming music service Tidal is set to host its first live charity concert event, with wife Beyonce and over 15 other stars.
According to reports, musicians Prince, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Lil Wayne and T.I. are among the first wave of artists announced to perform during the Oct. 20 event in Brooklyn, dubbed Tidal X:1020.
The large-scale concert gathering aims to raise money for non-profit organizations such as the New World Foundation, which focuses on reinforcing community-based charity groups.
Artists Fabulous, Thomas Rhett, Damien Marley, Indochina, DJ Cipha Sounds and DJ Reflex will also be in attendance alongside newcomers, such as Benjamin Booker, Hit-Boy, Bas, Jidenna, Justine Skye and Raury.
Tickets for the event go on sale for Tidal subscribers Wednesday at noon; ticket sales to the general public begin Friday, Oct. 2 at noon. Prices for entry to the first-time Tidal charity concert range from $74 to almost $250.
A livestream of the concert will be available for free on Tidal’s website. The company’s founder, Jay-Z announced the concert on Twitter Tuesday writing” “‘Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists’ Tidal is platinum. 1,000,000 people and counting. Let’s celebrate 10/20 Brooklyn.”
