Saint-Étienne (France) (AFP) – Keen football fan Prince William is making a round trip to France on Monday to watch England play Slovakia in Euro 2016.

The prince, who is second in line to the British throne, flew into Saint-Exupery airport in Lyon on a commercial flight before making the 60-kilometre (37-mile) journey to Saint-Etienne for the match, which kicks off at 1900 GMT, a diplomatic source said.

William was expected to fly straight back to Britain after the match.

The prince, who will celebrate his 34th birthday on Tuesday, has been the honorary president of the English Football Association since 2006.

England are aiming to cement top spot in Group B by beating Slovakia, which would give them a last-16 match at Paris’ Parc des Princes on Saturday.
