NEW YORK, July 8 (UPI) — The View executive producer Bill Wolff has confirmed Rosie Perez will exit the daytime chat show next month after one season as a co-host.
“Our friend Rosie Perez has decided to leave the show to pursue full time her love for acting,” Deadline reported Wolff told staff Tuesday afternoon in an email.
Perez’s last day will be Aug. 6, the show’s Season 18 finale.
Rumors have been swirling that she and her fellow, freshman panelist Nicolle Wallace would not be returning when the show starts taping again in the fall. Wallace’s future with the program remains uncertain.
Longtime moderator Whoopi Goldberg and Raven-Symoné, who was promoted from frequent guest host to permanent panelist last month, will be back next season.
Perez starred in the Broadway play Fish in the Dark this year, while juggling her View duties.
