Pumpkins paddle down Minnesota river for Pumpkin regatta

STILLWATER, Minn., Oct. 22 (UPI) — Minnesota residents seeking aquatic adventure paddled hollowed-out pumpkins for the annual Pumpkin Regatta race.

The sixth annual race, part of the annual Stillwater Harvest Festival, featured participants climbing into giant pumpkins and furiously paddling down the St. Croix River.

Festival-goer Gregory Logajan shared video of the event on YouTube. The video shows some of the paddle-boat pumpkins were intricately decorated for the race.

Officials said the pumpkins serving as boats for the event ranged from 450 pounds to 1,300 pounds.
