Python found under Miami woman’s home

MIAMI, Nov. 11 (UPI) — Miami Fire Rescue responded to a call Tuesday night that a large python was slithering through a Miami neighborhood.

Judy Tortoriello spotted the 9-foot burmese python under her porch and called 911 to have the lengthy reptile removed around 8:30 p.m.

Tortoriello was shaken up by the ordeal and feared for the safety of her pets.

“I’m glad it’s out, because I do have four cats,” she told NBC Miami. “I don’t want a snake to kill my cat or anything like that!”

While Tortoriello feared having to capture the snake herself, but Miami Fire Rescue were able to handle the situation quickly and without incident.

“We could see it through the slats, so we kind of knew where it was,” Miami Fire Rescue Lt. Lisa Wood told NBC.
