LOS ANGELES, April 27 (UPI) — Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt will lead the cast for Empire co-creator Lee Daniels’ next music-themed drama Star, Fox announced Wednesday.
The series, which sees “three talented singers navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success,” is to premiere during the 2016-17 television season.
Rounding out the ensemble will be newcomers Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady.
“The series will feature original music, along with stunning musical fantasy sequences, as the girls dream of their future,” a press release said.
