NEW YORK, June 9 (UPI) — New York rapper Pumpkinhead, known for his presence in the indie world and battle-rape circuits, died Tuesday. He was 39.
The rapper, born Robert Diaz, died of unspecified causes.
The Park Slope, Brooklyn, native was best known for his gruff voice, humorous lyrics and humble personality, Billboard reported. His single “Dynamic” hit the radio in 1997 and his album Orange Moon Over Brooklyn was well-received in 2005.
Diaz is survived by his wife, two sons and a baby daughter on the way. Funeral arrangements were pending.
