LOS ANGELES, Nov. 6 (UPI) — TBS says it has renewed its upcoming series Angie Tribeca for 10 seasons ahead of the cop comedy’s 2017 premiere.
Created by Steve and Nancy Carell, and starring Rashida Jones and Jere Burns, the 10-episode first season of the hilarious police procedural will debut as a commercial-free marathon Jan. 17 via the cable television network and its digital platforms.
Starting Jan. 25, TBS will begin rolling out Seasons 2-11, each of which will consist of one episode, giving viewers a season premiere and finale “in one really tight package,” a news release said. The new seasons will air weekly across TBS platforms on Mondays.
“Angie Tribeca has everything anyone could ever imagine in a crime drama,” a tongue-in-cheek statement from the network said. “Dead bodies, heinous crimes, complex mysteries within mysteries, violence, grit, sex, gritty sex and a detective who will stop at nothing to get her man… or woman… or ferret. We are so incredibly proud of Angie Tribeca, we’re going to shove it down America’s throat in a really big way. And not just America. We’re taking Angie global!”
