NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 15 (UPI) — Music couple Christina Milian and Lil Wayne have reportedly broken up after a year of dating according to reports.
Entertainment Tonight first broke the story claiming that the 33-year-old singer and 32-year-old rapper called it quits in late August.
“They have broke up. Their schedules started getting extremely busy and the distance was not easy for them both,” a source close to the couple revealed to E! News.
The duo began dating back in July 2014 and have kept their relationship secret until earlier this year when Milian started opening up about the their intimate bond. Back In April, during a a radio interview with Los Angeles’ Real 92.3, Milian referred to Lil Wayne aka Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., as her boyfriend and accidentally confessed her love for the star.
“He’s the sweetest, I love him,” she admitted before explaining the diamond ring on her left hand. “This is not an engagement [ring]. It was just a sweet little gift, a nice gesture. I just said it… I do [love Lil Wayne].”
Milian married and separated from musician The-Dream in 2009. The pair welcomed their first child, daughter Violet Madison, in February 2010, and finalized their divorce in October 2011. Lil Wayne has four children by four former partners.
