NEW YORK, Dec. 8 (UPI) — Gwyneth Paltrow’s store in New York was robbed on Dec. 5 just two weeks after opening in Manhattan’s high-end Time Warner Center.
Three men reportedly stole more than $173,000 worth of products from the Goop shop on Saturday while employees were present. They fled before police arrived, People reports.
Investigators are still working to locate and arrest the thieves.
“There was an isolated incident Saturday afternoon involving a very limited number of items, which was reported to the NYPD,” Goop said in a statement. “While the store was crowded during one of our busiest days, thankfully the NYPD responded quickly, our customers and staff are safe, and we remain open for business with proper security precautions in place.”
The New York City Goop shop, called Goop Mkt, was the first of Paltrow’s shops to collaborate with a major designer: Valentino. The store opened in the Time Warner Center on Columbus Circle on Nov. 23. Paltrow also has Goop shops in Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago.
