‘RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race’ to return for season 2

LOS ANGELES, July 22 (UPI) — RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race will return for a second season on Logo.

RuPaul, 54, revealed the news on social media Wednesday, saying the season will “be like no other.” Season 2 is slated to premiere after RuPaul’s Drag Race season 8 comes to a close, likely in 2016.

“They arrive as drag artists and they leave as international stars,” RuPaul said in the announcement. “The chance to bring back my best girls for a new season of All Stars is a dream come true for me and all the fans around the world.”

“On the heels of Drag Race’s seventh season, one of the most buzzworthy and highly-watched seasons to date, our fans have spoken and they want more drama, more queens and more Ru,” Logo head of original programming Pamela Post said in a statement.

RuPaul’s Drag Race premiered in 2009, and aired All Stars season 1 in 2012. The reality series sees aspiring drag queens compete for a cash prize — $100,000 as of season 7 — and a lifetime supply of cosmetics — from such companies as NYX and M.A.C.
