LOS ANGELES (AP) — Galen Rupp pulled away late to win the steamy U.S. Olympic Team Marathon Trials, earning a berth to the Rio Games.

The 29-year-old Rupp completed his marathon debut through Los Angeles in an unofficial time of 2 hours, 11 minutes, 10 seconds.
